The ‘04 Crossroads RV rally is in the books, and we are already planning the ‘05 rally. The rally was open to all owners of Cruiser, Paradise Pointe and Silverado RVs. Our initial rally was smaller than we originally planned, but that wasn’t a bad thing. Since this was our first rally, keeping it small made things more manageable for Jim and I. We hope to grow it by a few more units for '05.
This rally was as perfect as we could have hoped for. I want to thank the Big Guy upstairs for the super weather; highs around 80, lows in the 50’s, sunny and not a drop of rain! I also want to thank Jim (aka nascar-j) for coordinating the functions with the factory. He worked closely with Cal Jones from Crossroads RV to get them involved with the project. I owe big thanks to the entire Crossroads RV organization for everything they did. I know Jim's job with Cal was trying at times, since Cal was heavily involved with some ongoing projects that limited his time with us. However, the results were spectacular. The factory provided us with tours, new model display, lunch, a maintenance forum and an owner feedback forum that I hope we didn’t get Cal into information overload. He looked a little frazzled at times, but I think he did well under pressure. If anybody that couldn’t attend the rally has anything they would like passed on to the factory (both positive and negative comments), please let me know. I will forward the information to Cal.
Our campground (Twin Mills in Howe, IN) provided us with a community fire ring for a Friday night hot-dog roast and smore gathering. We also had a Saturday morning pancake breakfast as well as our Saturday night Crossroads buffet.
Most of all, I want to thank the attendees at the rally as they were the most enjoyable aspect of the rally. We had the greatest group of people I have ever camped with. Everyone was so upbeat and supportive. The attendees made our job of organizing the rally a rewarding experience.
